Scrapbooking was my introduction into papercrafting long before card making but I haven’t done very much of it for a few years…but just before Christmas I came across some joyful photos that made me smile a lot and realized that I could make a fun scrapbook layout with them that I could frame and give to my girls instead of Christmas cards – and that is exactly what I did!
Here is my layout – oh my I love those pure unadulterated joyful smiles that little kids have!
Isn’t that smile cheeky?! It begged to be put onto a bold and bright page and so that is what I did.
The ‘Be Merry!’ was die cut from Red Glimmer Paper using those Large Letters Framelits Dies and the ‘bright’ is a stamp from the set Hearts Come Home that I embossed in Gold.
The black banner piece was textured with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder and I added Gold Glittered stars & hearts cut using dies from Wood Crate Framelits, Santa’s Sleigh Framelits and the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch…
I added a twist of Gold Thread at the end of that little banner which I shaped using my Paper Snips. The ‘&’ sign is also from Large Letters Framelits and I love how this helps bring the words together.
Two of the trees were cut using a die from Santa’s Sleigh Framelits and Designer Series Papers to give some fun patterns…
And the top tree is cut from Garden Green cardstock and added with Dimensionals to give some depth.
The finally the Quilted Christmas Ribbon across the center ties three of the colors together…
I had so much fun making these pages that it inspired me to get back into scrapping big time – I can’t wait to make & show you more!
