Welcome to 3-D Thursday and this week we have a fun one for you – it’s a Birthday in a Bag!
This week’s project was created by the fabulously creative Susan Itell over at Simple Stampin and she came up with this cute project – further down this post you will find a link to the FREE Project Sheet that has step by step instructions & color photos so that you can create your own beautiful project.
And here is what Susan came up with…a cute bag to celebrate a birthday!
The bag is created using the Gift Bag Punch Board and decorated using stamps and die cuts from the Birthday Cheer Bundle.
Using the gift boxes die from Detailed Birthday Edgelits Susan die cut a row of gifts out of a piece of white cardstock to use as a template. She then laid this template on the front of her bag and used Stampin Blends Markers to color in the ‘holes’.
Upon removing the template, she the die cut another one to adhere onto the colored images to give a framed fantastic finished look.
In the image below you can see the panel on the right is a work in progress with that template held in place with low tack tape – the center panel has the coloring all done and the template removed and the one on the left has the final die cut overlaid on top…
To make adhering those die cuts in place easy, use the Multipurpose Sheets – simply adhere to your cardstock BEFORE die cutting, then run it through your Big Shot and upon removing it, peel away the protective sheet to reveal a perfect & consistent layer of adhesive!
Inside the bag is a pouch of Confetti Cake mix and there are SO MANY to choose from! You can find them in your grocery store in the flour/cake mixes aisle.
Susan additionally covered some Hershey’s Nuggets with patterned paper to coordinate with the bag.
See those pretty twisted purple & pink papers? Super easy to create – simply cut a thin strip, wind it around a wooden skewer and there you have a fun embellishment!
One last look – you can fill your bag with whatever takes your fancy – chocolate, candies, a cake mix, balloons, kazoo – and then tie together with some ribbon, add your cardstock twirls and your gift bag is ready for giving…
