Well I had a challenge to produce a monochromatic card using browns for a card swap that I entered into…

Browns are amongst my most favorite colors to use so I had quite a selection of materials to choose from in my stash – I got out my Upsy Daisy stamp set, assortment of brown Cardstocks and Designer Series Papers, my trusty Punches and beautiful Tafetta Ribbon, and this is what I came up with…

I took a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and cut it to the standard card size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) – I cut a piece of Close to Cocoa and used my Scallop Edge Punch to shape the bottom edge. I cut a piece of DSP from the Chocolate Chip Prints pack to fit as a band across this and adhered both pieces to the base. I used my Photo Corners Punch to add a feature to the top corner.

I stamped the image using a stamp from Upsy Daisy and Chocolate Chip ink – I stamped the first image onto Kraft and then moved the stamp over and up about 1″ and stamped again to give the background effect. I matted this piece of cardstock onto Close to Cocoa cardstock and tied around a piece of Kraft Tafetta. I then attached this to the card base using dimensionals, to give a 3-d effect.

A perfect Fall card suitable for birthdays, thank you’s and thinking of you cards – and all items are currently available for purchase from the Stampin’ Up! Fall Winter Catalog – you can find the link to this catalog on the right :-)
