It’s a bit of a chilly day here in Central Texas and it’s going to get positively brrrr tonight with an arctic front blasting through bringing with it a potential snow day tomorrow! Which bizarrely has me thinking of warm summery days!
Today I am making congratulations cards for my team members recent achievements and with summer days in mind got to work on a card that just oozes warm long lazy summer days…
I used Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach for the splashes of color on a pure Whisper White backdrop and the texture is courtesy of two Embossing Folders – Petal Burst for the banner which I made using the Banner Triple Punch and Oh My Stars for the main background.
The mason jug is created using stamps from Mixed Drinks – to get the look of the straw going through the drink, first stamp your mug – then stamp the straw – and then cut a small strip of a post it note (along the adhesive section) and use it to cover up the straw. Then stamp your drink layer over it, remove the post it note piece and voila – this is what you get…
And then I popped a length of pretty striped ribbon underneath along with a piece of White Bakers Twine and finished with a sweet little bow.
The pretty pink flower is from the set Flower Shop and is cut out using the coordinating Pansy Punch – I then added a bit of sparkle to the center using a Clear Faceted Gem and dotted around a few Iridescent Sequins to carry the colors around my card…
And now to send them off in the mail to my wonderful team along with a few treats!
