I’ve had a busy last week catching up with some Team mailings & recognitions and today I wanted to show you one of the items I sent out – a little happy mail that I mailed to every member of my team which I hope will bring smiles in the depths of winter and brighten up desks – Calendar Easel Cards!
AND I am also going to be mailing one of these out to EVERYONE who uses my January Host Code – BVYGZPZK – and it’s not too late if you want to get one of these too – simply place an order in my online store for $25+ by clicking HERE, be sure to pop the code BVYGZPZK into the host code box at the bottom left of your Shopping Bag – and I will mail one to you too along with a FREE roll of Ribbon of your choice from the Occasions Catalog – click HERE to find out what free ribbon you get to choose from!
Here they are…so cheerful and fun to look at on a winter’s day!
I have a Project Sheet for you detailing all measurements, the colors I used & full instructions on how to make these easel cards below – just look for the red words to find it.
I originally made one each for my kids – one loves orange and the other blue, hence my color choices – I finished them and decided to make a whole bunch of them because they are standard card sized thus pop into a regular envelope and they are so cheerful I thought that they are perfect to send as happy mail!
You don’t need any special tools to make these – just a paper trimmer with score blade – the card part is simply a standard portrait card and the folded part that holds it together is a piece of 4×4 cardstock.
Here is a better look at the orange one – I used Calypso Coral as my card base…
I found the Calendar Pads at Vippies.com – these are the large self stick size pads and I couldn’t be happier with them – plus the folks there are amazing to deal with and ship super fast – perfect for impatient crafters like me!
The image is a stamp from Flying Home – a new set featured on pg 41 of the Occasions Catalog and I used a variety of Stampin’ Blends Markers to color it in – be sure to use Memento Tuxedo Ink to stamp images you are going to color with these alcohol based markers for best results…
And here is a better look at the blue one – I used Pool Party cardstock for the base of this one…
It’s hard to see from the photos but the panel of white cardstock behind the calendar pad is embossed with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder for a bit of a wood fence look.
And here is a look at the side so that you can see the bit at the bottom that makes it an easel – doing this makes it incredibly sturdy and it doesn’t slide or fall down…
Simply cut a piece of the same colored cardstock you used for the card base to be sized 4″ square – put into a scoring tool and score at 1/2″, 2″ and 3 1/2″ – fold along those score lines and use strong adhesive tape such as Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape Adhesive along the two end tabs and secure in place inside your card right at the very bottom.
I also stamped another image from Flying Home on the back and left it uncolored so that the recipient can have some fun coloring it if they wish to do so…
The sentiment is from an old Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Reason to Smile – it is now retired but I kept this stamp as it is perfect to use on a happy project like this!
And here is one last look at them together…
They turned out super cute and I am in the middle of making a bunch more to mail out to customers early next week – DON’T FORGET YOU CAN HAVE ONE IN THE MAIL COMING TO YOU TOO if you place an order with me today or tomorrow – just click on any of the links in the supply list below to go to my online store – and be sure to use my Host Code when checking out to get your free ribbon & easel card!
