I can hardly believe the Holiday season is upon us…where did the year go?! This started me thinking about Christmas gifts and gift wrapping and led on to thinking about tags to put onto those gifts…check out these tags with a yummy difference to wow your family and friends…
Below you can see some tags that can each house a sweet little something such as a candy cane or peppermint stick to give a very fun finishing touch to your gift wrapping…they would be perfect for putting onto bagged & wrapped gifts and also for attaching to a homemade batch of cookies, a bottle of wine or batch of cards to give to your neighbors and friends…
The tag shapes are made using Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstocks and the Stampin’ Up! exclusive Two Tags Bigz Die with the Big Shot that you can find on pg 198 of the Catalog – once cut out, you fold along the score lines and you have your basic tag base.
Chocolate Chip Tag – uses a strip of Designer Series Paper from Merry Moments adhered to the center – I then took the ‘From our house to yours’ stamp from the set Sweet Season (pg 29) and stamped it in Chocolate Chip ink onto Real Red cardstock and then again onto Very Vanilla cardstock. On the Very Vanilla cardstock color the heart in the middle of the house with a Real Red Marker. I then took my Wide Oval Punch and punched out the image on the red cardstock and used my Small Oval Punch to punch out the center image from the vanilla cardstock – adhered this to the red oval using Dimensionals and attach to the tag base. Finally I took a piece of Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and tied it to the top – and for my sweet treat I placed a Candy Cane inside…
Very Vanilla Tag – also has a strip of Designer Series Paper from Merry Moments adhered to the center – I then took the scalloped snowflake stamp from the set Sweet Season and stamped it twice onto Very Vanilla cardstock using Real Red ink. I punched one of them out using my Scallop Circle Punch and then I took my 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and punched out the center snowflake from the other. I punched out a 1 3/8″ Circle from Old Olive and adhered the snowflake to it – I put a Clear Rhinestone Brad into the center and used Dimensionals to adhere it to the scallop snowflake. I then attached this to the tag base using Dimensionals. Finally I attached a piece of Old Olive 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon to the top and for my sweet treat, inserted a couple of delicious chocolate covered peppermint sticks…
What a fabulous way to dress up your holiday gifts in an economical way – I found the box of 12 candy canes for just 88c and the tub of chocolate covered peppermint sticks for $5 – it contains 68 of those sticks which makes them just 7c a piece!
