I decided on a Clean and Simple theme today and combined this with using up some scraps of Designer Series Paper…

When a pack of DSP is almost all used up, I find myself left with lots of different sized strips and pieces of those papers – I don’t want to waste them by throwing them away, so always dig out some punches and get to work.

You will find that you can make an amazing number of cards using up these bits and pieces and it’s a great feeling to get fabulous cards from scraps…

I used Designer Series Papers from one of my favorite packs, Elegant Soiree – the colors in it are just beautiful and so easy to work with.

My card is sized a shade below 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ so that it will fit into a Medium Square Envelope – the base is Very Vanilla onto which I layered Soft Suede which frames my top layer of Vanilla – I used a 1 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out 9 pieces of Soft Suede cardstock and used my 1 3/8″ Circle Punch to punch out various designs from my pack of DSP.

I added these to my Soft Suede circles using Dimensionals.  I stamped my ‘thanks’ sentiment from the stamp set Fabulous Phrases and cut out a little flower from my DSP and added it as a cute finishing touch.

Using my bag of scraps, I can make lots of cards like this using supplies I would otherwise have thrown away – my rule when keeping scraps is that I only keep them if I can easily use a paper punch on them – if they are smaller than that, I throw them away.
