The leaves have just started falling from the trees here in central Texas and with the temperature dropping it is beginning to feel like Fall…and so I decided to make a card featuring autumnal colors and leaves…

The stamps I used in my card below are from the beautiful set Day of Gratitude that you can find on pg 12 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It is a stunning set and features a medallion stamp, leaves, acorns, fall flowers and two sentiments…

My card base is Early Espresso onto which I layered a mat of Cajun Craze that I textured by using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I wrapped around a piece of Early Espresso 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon and my base is complete.

For the images…I used a leaf stamp from Day of Gratitude and stamped it 4 times onto Very Vanilla cardstock – the colors of inks I used are: Old Olive, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and More Mustard.  I then punched out each leaf using my 1 3/8″ Square Punch which makes it super easy to get squares the exact same size and adhered the squares using Dimensionals onto a piece of 3×3 Early Espresso cardstock and attached it to my card base…

I stamped my sentiment using Early Espresso ink and punched it out using my 2″ x 1 3/8″ Oval Punch and adhered it to my card base again using Dimensionals – I stacked two dimensionals on top of one another so that my sentiment would stand above my leaf mat…can you tell I love using Dimensionals?!  They are a fab deal at just $4.95 for 300 and are such an easy way to make your cards look extra special…

For a cute little finishing touch I stamped the acorn and trimmed it out using Paper Snips and adhered it to my sentiment, again using a Dimensional…and there is one clean and simple looking card with extra depth and interest created by using Dimensionals.

Here is the stamp set Day of Gratitude – it is beautiful and available in both wood mount and clear mount versions…find out more about it by clicking on the image below…
