I love this time of year…spring is here and the birds are in full chorus and I just love to hear their chirps and songs all day…

I decided to dig out my bird stamps to create a card featuring birds in a tree – we have birds nesting in the garden and it is fascinating to watch them hop around in search of building materials and food – my little cat thinks so too, perched on his favorite window ledge inside!

My card uses cute birds & a cage from my favorite set Aviary along with one brand new bird stamp from the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog…can you see which stamp it is?

He is the little bird at the bottom and you will find him in the set Proud Peacock featured on pg 14 of the Summer Mini Catalog – you can order that beautiful set when the catalog goes live on Sunday.

My card uses the colors Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Marina Mist and Early Espresso – wow – I fit all my favorite colors on this card today!

I stamped my tree using a stamp from Season of Friendship (pg 120) – LOVE that set as it is so versatile and useable all year round – and used my Stamp-a-majig to position my birds in place onto the tree.

NOT USED A STAMP-A-MAJIG BEFORE? Click HERE for my printable tutorial – you can find the Stamp-a-majig on pg 198 of the Catalog

I stamped my birdcage & owl, cut them out and added a little brad to the top and attached it to my card using Dimensionals to make the cage look like it is hanging from the tree branch…

Finishing touches? My sentiment is a stamp from the set Fabulous Phrases (pg 149), I added a button from Neutrals Designer Buttons through which I threaded a piece of Linen Thread and I added a piece of Marina Mist 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and finished with a knot.

Below are the images in those stamp sets – Aviary is on the left and Season of Friendship on the right – LOVE how they work so well together…
