I decided to go clean and simple with today’s card and used one of my favorite stamp sets that is featured in the Summer Mini Catalog…

That stamp set is Touch of Kindness and you can find it on pg 25 – it is wonderfully versatile and features a cute cat, birds in a bird bath, sentiments and the stamps I am using today – a beautiful flower and stem…

I decided to go with a summery feel to my card and choose a fresh white, green and orange color theme…can you guess it’s still 105 here in Central Texas?!

My card base is simply Whisper White cardstock and onto it I layered a piece of patterned paper from Pocketful of Posies DSP – this is one of my absolute favorites packs of Designer Series Paper and I can’t stop using it – it’s just beautiful!

I then stamped my flower and stem onto a piece of white cardstock and colored in the leaves with Markers – Always Artichoke for the leaves and Pumpkin Pie for the outer petals of my flower.

I then cut that cardstock to size, to be 4″ x 3″ and matted it (using Dimensionals) onto a piece a bit bigger beneath – sized at 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″.

I punched out a piece of Peach Parfait polka dotted paper from my In Color 2010 Patterns Stack DSP (pg 185) using my 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and added it to the center of my flower using Dimensionals – I love how it packs a real punch and is such an easy embellishment to make!

I decided to add a cute little accent flower button from Regals Designer Buttons (pg 197) to my flower and threaded through a bit of White Bakers Twine & tied it in a cute little knot…

I love that flower stamp because you can fill it with anything…you can color it with Markers or Crayons, stamp it onto a solid color cardstock, punch out circles of cardstock & patterned papers for the center…add texture by embossing a piece of cardstock and punching it out to attach there – the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder looks super cute used that way…fill it with glitter…microbeads…so many possibilities!

And finally I stamped my sentiment, punched it out using my 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and added a cute little bird – he is simply a bird from the bird bath stamp that I stamped, colored and cut out – isn’t he sweet?

And this is another card that shows you how you can get those gorgeous Designer Series Papers to work for you and make your card making easier – and you’ve got to love that!

And here are the images that you get in this set  – Touch of Kindness – it’s available in both wood & clear mount versions and it is cute & versatile – click on the picture below to see it in the online store:

This is absolutely a breath of fresh air, and you are right about that temperature. It was “only” 94 degrees today … thought maybe we were at the beginning of autumn? Thanks for sharing this sweet card.
