I was going through my stash of items from the Holiday Catalog and came across a pack of Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags and on opening the package, my lightbulb went off…

There are lots of SUPER CUTE die cut mats of various designs in there which are just perfect for layering on cards – and fast to do too!

You can find Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags on pg 22 of the Holiday Catalog – that pack costs JUST $4.95 for 35 die cut heavyweight mats & tags!  Click HERE to find them!

And so I designed and made 2 cards in just 20 minutes using them this morning and here they are – the first…

JournalingTagsCard

This is my favorite – I LOVE how bright and cheerful this card is!

The card base…is Crumb Cake onto which I layered a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I textured using the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder (pg 22 Holiday Catalog)…

The twine…I simply wrapped around two pieces of Old Olive Bakers Twine from my Stamp a Tag Kit (pg 35 Holiday Catalog) and finished with a knot in front.

The layers…aren’t they fun?  They are simply three die cut pieces from Season of Style Journaling Tags that I added to my card base using Snail and Dimensionals in a staggered fashion…LOVE this look…

And I just love that mat that has a stack of gifts – how cute is that?!  To add a bit of bling I added a small Rhinestone Jewel to the center of each of the bows which added a very cute look…

And that was my first card…now onto the second…you can make ALOT of cards using this pack of Journaling Tags!

journalingtagscard2

This card has the exact same card base and Cherry Cobbler textured layer…

The layers…I added that big mat that has beautiful trees & snow on it and then wrapped around a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon (pg 22 Holiday Catalog).

I took another die cut piece that had a chevron border pattern on it, trimmed it to size and layered it onto my ribbon for a neat look…

And finally I added that ‘The most wonderful time of the year’ mat (yes, another pre-printed, die cut piece in the Journaling Tags pack!) and attached it using Dimensionals.

I just LOVE how these two cards turned out and intend to make a bunch more using the other pieces in the tags pack – they are such amazing value for money!

I like both but I think the first one is a smidge cuter! I had never even paid attention to this set before – I don’t scrapbook but now I can really see what a great deal this is and how you could use it. I love layering. Thanks so much for a fun idea!
