I decided to take a break from leaves & acorns and get out some summery stamps to play with on a dreary overcast day – and flowers & butterflies appeared in my hands!

I found them in the beautiful set Butterfly Basics – if you don’t yet have that set, give it some thought – it is a fantastically versatile set to have in your stash as you can use it for many different occasions – you can find it on pg 124 or by clicking here

Here is the card that I made using stamps from that set…

I decided to use just 3 colors on my card – Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Mint Macaron – and think they work together nicely…

The card base…is Very Vanilla onto which I layered a piece of Basic Black and then another piece of Very Vanilla to give a nice narrow framed look.

The newsprint paper…is from Typeset Specialty DSP and on top of that I added a piece of Mint Macaron Lace Trim for a pretty feminine look – and over that I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread and finished with a bow on the side.

The stamped panel…that floral stamp is from Butterfly Basics and I stamped it using Mint Macaron ink – and the ‘thank you’ stamp is from the set Happy Happenings (which is another must have stamp set for your stash!) and finally I matted it onto a piece of black and added it to my card using Dimensionals…

The finishing touches…I stamped two small butterflies (from Butterfly Basics) and punched them out using the cute Bitty Butterfly Punch and added them to my card using glue dots…

I love this card and how you can easily change the sentiment to fit a different occasion…wedding, anniversary, birthday, thanks, thinking of you, engagement…the list goes on and on!

Here are the images you get in Butterfly Basics…click on the blue words to see it in the store…

And here is the sweet Bitty Butterfly Punch…

Such a beautiful card. This is one of my favorite stamp sets, too. Nice!
