Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there – I hope you enjoy a fabulous day! Mother’s Day of course always makes me think of flowers and some of my favorites are sunflowers – they are just so bold, bright and happy, which is how I strive to live my life…
When I got my hands on the brand new Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies featured in the Eastern Palace Premier Bundle promotion that is running right now, I saw how beautiful and versatile they are, and my creative brain went into overdrive! I used one of those dies to create the sunflower shape and wow did it work out great – here it is…
A very bright, clean and simple card that I think will brighten up someone’s day…
You will find a link to my printable/downloadable Project Sheet detailing all measurements, the colors I used & full instructions on how to make this card below – look for the red words…
See that new bright green color? It’s one of the brand new, incoming 2017-19 In Colors and is called Lemon Lime Twist – using bright colors like this is definitely outside of my comfort zone but I made myself go ahead and play and I love the splash of color it adds – it’s a great addition to the color collections!
And whilst customers are not able to order this vibrant new color until June 1st, you can get this card if you place an order in my online store during May – yup, it’s my customer Thank You card that I am mailing out to ALL customers (new & existing!) who place an order with me this month – use my Host Code that you can find at the end of this post and you will also get to choose a FREE Adhesive item too – sweet deal! Click here to find my store!
The yellow sunflower shape is made using a die from Eastern Medallions Thinlits that you can get right now in the Eastern Palace Premier Bundle during May and the stamp I used on my card is also included in that bundle and is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set – click HERE to find out more
The flower center was super easy to create using a die from Layering Circle Framelits and then texturing it using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder – I love how it gives a real random sunflower seed look…
Isn’t that flower stem CUTE? You can color in the leaves or leave them blank for a simple look – it is a stamp from a new upcoming Host set called Feathered Friends and it is adorable! Again, available from June 1st when the new Annual Catalog goes live for customer order or NOW when you join! Yes – join in May and you can get it early along with many other items that are in the new Catalog!
Here is a closer look at the stitched stamped circle – I love the script of the thank you stamp and I cut it out using a die from Stitched Shapes Framelits – if you don’t have that set of dies, you really do need them – they are AWESOME and you will find yourself reaching for them all the time…
My real sunflowers in my vegetable garden are still going upwards but no sign of flowers yet – I put them in there to protect them from the deer this year because all previous years they just get munched on and disappear overnight – hopefully we will have flowers on there soon!
